Reinsurance Broker - Sri Lanka/Maldives

We are on the lookout for a highly motivated and knowledgeable Reinsurance Broker to play a key role in developing and managing reinsurance programs within the Sri Lankan and Maldivian market. As a trusted advisor to clients, you'll be responsible for facilitating reinsurance placements, negotiating terms, and managing relationships between insurers, reinsurers, and clients. Role & responsibilities

• Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, helping them navigate the complexities of reinsurance and develop tailored solutions to mitigate risks.
• Market Knowledge: Leverage your expertise in the Sri Lankan and Maldivian market to provide market insights and strategic advice, ensuring clients benefit from the best coverage at competitive terms.
• Reinsurance Placement: Collaborate with the placement teams and ensure that all deals are structured and negotiated to meet client objectives while optimizing pricing and coverage. Develop strategies to address clients specific needs in a changing market.
• Industry Relations: Cultivate strong relationships with reinsurers, brokers, and key stakeholders within the Sri Lanka/ Maldives, and global reinsurance landscape to enhance placement success and ensure the smooth execution of transactions.
• Market Development: Help drive business growth by identifying new opportunities in the Sri Lankan and Maldivian market, including expanding the client base and building brand recognition within the local industry.
• Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all reinsurance placements comply with relevant regulations and documentation standards, ensuring transparency and accuracy in all transactions.

Preferred candidate profile:

• 3-5 years of experience in reinsurance broking, insurance, or a related field, with specific knowledge of the Sri Lankan/ Maldivian market.
• Strong understanding of reinsurance products, risk management strategies, and the dynamics of both local and international reinsurance markets.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and complex transactions.
• Proven ability to build relationships and influence outcomes, both with clients and reinsurers.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to assess and present complex risk information in a clear, concise manner.
• A proactive and entrepreneurial attitude with a passion for driving business growth and client satisfaction.
• A Bachelors degree in Insurance, Risk Management, or a related field (CII, ACII, or other relevant certifications are a plus).
• Fluency in English (knowledge of Sinhala or Tamil is a distinct advantage).
