Job Summary:
The Credit Risk Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing credit risk policies, procedures, and models.
This includes analyzing financial statements, assessing creditworthiness, setting credit limits, and monitoring portfolio performance.
This role requires a proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Credit Risk Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of customers, including individuals, businesses, and other entities.
- Analyze financial statements, industry trends, and other relevant information to assess credit risk.
- Credit Policy Development: Develop and implement credit risk policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure sound credit practices and minimize potential losses.
- Credit Scoring and Modeling: Develop and maintain credit scoring models and other quantitative tools to assess credit risk.
- Utilize statistical techniques and data analysis to improve credit risk assessment accuracy.
- Credit Limit Setting: Determine appropriate credit limits for customers based on their creditworthiness and risk profile.
- Regularly review and adjust credit limits as needed.
- Portfolio Monitoring: Monitor the credit risk portfolio, identifying potential risks and trends.
- Analyze portfolio performance, delinquency rates, and other key metrics.
- Reporting and Analysis: Prepare regular reports on credit risk exposure, portfolio performance, and other key metrics.
- Provide insights and recommendations to senior management.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant credit risk regulations and guidelines.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in regulations and best practices.
- Credit Review: Conduct periodic reviews of customer credit files and loan portfolios to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments, including sales, finance, and legal, to ensure effective credit risk management.
- Process Improvement: Continuously improve credit risk management processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Training: Provide training to staff on credit risk management principles and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in credit risk management .
- Strong understanding of credit risk principles, credit analysis techniques, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in financial statement analysis and interpretation.
- Experience with credit scoring models and statistical software.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Knowledge of relevant credit risk regulations and guidelines.
- Relevant certifications, such as CFA, FRM, or PRM, are a plus
