The Job Description (JD) for a Naval Architect typically involves the following duties and responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design and Development:
• Design the structure, stability, and integrity of marine vessels, including ships, submarines, yachts, and offshore structures.
• Develop blueprints, models, and CAD (Computer-Aided Design) drawings for various maritime vessels.
• Ensure compliance with international and local regulations related to safety, environmental impact, and operational efficiency.
2. Project Management:
• Oversee all phases of the construction and design process from initial concept to final delivery.
• Manage and coordinate with other engineers, designers, and specialists to ensure seamless project execution.
• Supervise the building process to ensure the design is accurately implemented.
3. Analysis and Testing:
• Perform various calculations to ensure the structural and hydrodynamic performance of vessels (e.g., stability, strength, and resistance).
• Conduct simulations, model testing, and sea trials to validate designs.
• Ensure that designs adhere to industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental laws.
4. Maintenance and Refurbishment:
• Provide consultancy services regarding maintenance, repair, and refurbishment of existing vessels.
• Advise on the enhancement of vessel design for improving operational efficiency or meeting new regulatory standards.
5. Collaboration:
• Work closely with clients, suppliers, and contractors to ensure the design meets the client's requirements.
• Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all necessary standards and requirements.
• Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders throughout the development and execution phases.
6. Cost Management and Budgeting:
• Estimate project costs and prepare detailed budget proposals.

Required Skills:

• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of marine engineering principles, hydrodynamics, structural mechanics, and materials science.
• Software Expertise: Proficiency in CAD software (such as AutoCAD, Rhino, and SolidWorks) and other naval architecture tools for analysis (such as ANSYS or MATLAB).
• Problem Solving: Ability to address complex technical challenges related to vessel design and construction.
• Attention to Detail: Precision in calculations, design, and inspections to ensure safety and reliability.

Qualifications:
