Vmware/Linux Administrator

Role & Responsibilities:

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in VMware / Linux Administration.
• Must have RedHat, SUSE Linux, HP UNIX and VMware environment.
• Experience in RedHat, SUSE LINUX OS installation, Administration and Troubleshooting
• Installed and configured in both physical and VMware Virtual Environment, Implementation of server and datacenter infrastructures.
• Configured Cluster Nodes.
• Installing and updating packages using YUM (custom YUM Servers/repositories) and Red Hat, SUSE Satellite Server.
• Experience in server builds, patch management, antivirus and updates.
• Performed system administration activities, security policies and monitored system performance both at software and hardware levels
• Worked in Virtualization with VMware vSphere, ESXi, ESX servers, vCenter server and vCenter Converter, VCloud director
• Expertise in Configuring Bonded Interfaces for networking and Managing storage using LVM in RHEL and CentOS Operating
• Experience and Strong Knowledge of Virtualization technologies like VMware ESX/ESXI.
• Created and managed VMs (virtual machines) and involved in the maintenance of the virtual machines
• Experience with enterprise backup systems and disaster recovery operations; familiarity with SAN technologies; solid
• understanding of vSphere 4 implementation with shared storage fiber channel, ISCSI, NFS / VMFS strategies for performance and optimization
• Experience in the V2V and P2V migration of Physical servers to VMware ESX hosts
• updating / upgrading ESX servers, Virtual Center servers and VMware ESX/ESXi hosts using VMware Update manager and manual upgrades for Patching.
• ESX Architecture, guest OS installation, setting up of VM priorities, Cloning, Creating Templates and Snapshots.
• High level experience in VMWare design and deployment, implementation and management.
• Develop, implement, and maintain backup and recovery strategies and procedures.
• Monitor and analyze backup system performance, perform periodic system backups and restores.
• Monitor and maintain backup systems and hardware, Analyse and optimize backup processes for efficiency.
• Strong technical background in Storage, Disk Management, Logical Volume Management (LVM) and logical partitioning.
• Management of User accounts, System security, change management and performance tuning.
• Installation of SSL certificates Linux servers.
• Integration of various network related services like NFS, NIS, DNS, FPT and Samba Server.
