Senior Pipe Stress Analysis Engineer Oil & Gas

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Pipe Stress Analysis Engineer with over 20 years of expertise in the Oil & Gas sector. The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing complex pipe stress analyses, ensuring compliance with industry codes and standards, and providing technical leadership for piping design and integrity assessments in offshore and onshore projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct pipe stress analysis using industry-standard software such as CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, ROHR2, or equivalent.
• Evaluate thermal expansion, seismic loads, vibration analysis, transient effects, and support optimization for piping systems.
• Ensure compliance with ASME B31.1, B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 579, API 610, API 617, NEMA SM23, and other industry codes & standards.
• Perform fitness-for-service (FFS) assessments, fatigue analysis, and flexibility studies for critical piping systems.
• Provide technical leadership in resolving pipe routing, layout, and flexibility challenges.
• Collaborate with piping designers, structural engineers, process engineers, and construction teams for seamless project execution.
• Conduct pipe stress analysis for static and dynamic conditions, including slug flow, water hammer, wind, and seismic loads.
• Review and approve stress calculations, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers in best practices for pipe stress analysis.
• Support project bidding, estimation, and feasibility studies for piping systems.
• Work closely with fabrication, procurement, and construction teams to ensure engineering deliverables meet project requirements.
• Participate in technical audits, failure investigations, and RCA (Root Cause Analysis).
• Ensure all deliverables meet HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) and quality requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or related field.
• 20+ years of experience in pipe stress analysis in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, or Refinery industries.
• Expertise in CAESAR II, AutoPIPE, ROHR2, ANSYS, or equivalent tools.
• Strong understanding of piping material selection, metallurgy, and welding specifications.
• Deep knowledge of industry standards & regulatory compliance (ASME, API, NEMA, ISO, PED, etc.).
• Experience in working with FPSO, LNG, Refineries, Offshore & Onshore projects.
• Proven leadership and mentoring skills for junior engineers.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with multi-disciplinary teams.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on optimizing engineering solutions.
• Experience in handling FEED (Front End Engineering Design), EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), and maintenance projects.
• Exposure to finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) is a plus.

Preferred Certifications:

• ASME Professional Engineer (PE) Certification (Preferred)
• API 579 Fitness-for-Service Certification (Preferred)
• NACE or Welding Inspection Certifications (Added Advantage)
• Project Management Certification (PMP, PRINCE2) (Preferred)
