System Monitoring Engineer - IT Infrastructure (6-10 yrs)

Monitoring Systems Engineer will be focused on providing actual operational state of the Network, Systems and Applications: from collection and storing of metrics and logs, to alerts correlation and visibility in to proactive and predictive analysis through Dashboards.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities :

- Collaborating with Infrastructure and application teams to design, setup and manage the monitoring for critical infrastructure and applications.

- Monitor Server, network infrastructure and application performance metrics, and identify patterns and trends to improve system performance and reliability.

- The engineer will also be responsible for automating alerting and remediation processes to reduce mean time to resolution (MTTR) and improve system uptime.

- Build the state-of-the-art visibility dashboards using Grafana or other open-source trending and dashboarding tools.

- Should be excited by the prospect of optimizing or even re-designing our company's monitoring infrastructure to support our next generation of products and monitoring initiatives.

- Responsible for capacity and availability of Monitoring tools.

- Participate in new projects from design to implementation.

- Provide 24/7 on call support as required.

- Adhere to the Company's Quality Management System (QMS) as well as domestic and global quality system regulations, standards, and procedures.

- Understand relevant security, privacy and compliance principles and adhere to the regulations, standards, and procedures that are applicable to the Company.

- Ensure other members of the department follow the QMS, regulations, standards, and procedures.

- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications :

Minimum education and experience :

- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering or related field with 5+ years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Additional Qualifications :

- Experience in setting up and configuring the monitoring and observability tools like SolarWinds, SCOM, DNA Center, Grafana, etc.

- Experience in setting up Monitoring for the cloud resources.

- Deep understanding of IT infrastructure monitoring and observability best practices.

- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze large amounts of data and identify patterns and trends.

- Advanced level programing skills with Python, Go, PowerShell, or other coding languages.

- Automation experience with IaC, Configuration Management tools and DevOps tools like Ansible, Chef, GIT, Jenkins, Terraform, etc.

- Experience with Opensource implementations of tools like Zabbix, Prometheus, Nagios, Elastic search, etc. is a plus.

- Proficiency with Systems and Network administration.

- Medical device, pharmaceutical, biotech, or other regulated industry experience desired.

- Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

- Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize assignments while handling various projects simultaneously.
