Supervisor - Forge Shop

Role & responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate forge shop operations to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Oversee the setup and operation of forging equipment, including hammers, presses, and furnaces.
• Monitor workflow, allocate resources effectively, and adjust schedules as needed.
• Ensure adherence to safety procedures and regulations to maintain a secure work environment.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate forge shop personnel to enhance their skills and performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
• Maintain accurate production records and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Coordinate with other departments, such as quality control and maintenance, to ensure smooth operations.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Ensure proper maintenance and servicing of forging machinery and tools.

Preferred candidate profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in engineering or a related field is a plus.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a forging or metalworking environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of forging processes, metallurgy, and quality control standards.
• Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in using forge shop equipment and tools.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills, including knowledge of production tracking systems.
