The Design Engineer is responsible for total engineering work, engineering deliverables and technical accuracy of designated job. The Design Engineer is responsible for executing the project within the engineering budget, within the program schedule and will be the single point contact for the coordination of the designated job. The Design Engineer will have a strong understanding on the relevant codes and technical specifications and know all aspects of the Jord product well. All engineering work shall be carried out in compliance with the Jord ISO system.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manages designated engineering jobs with reference to PO requirements and be responsible for all technical issues
Reports on project progress, budget to completion, event notes, ECN and progress reports
Attends KOMs and highlights any missing information or ambiguous issues to execute the project
Creates engineering estimates, develops deliverable dates and status, prepares design plan, estimation sheets, BOMs, MTO, technical reports, TPS, O&M & close out reports, and reviews engineering drawings and documents
Ensures all necessary inputs are readily available to team to work with minimum delay and without the need for rework
Performs mechanical design and analytical calculation using governing codes and standards
Reviews all engineering documentation and designs prior to release to ensure compliance and strives for zero errors
Strives for improvement in reducing cost and lead time of the design and manufacturing process
Able to understand and prioritise the release of drawings for manufacturing and customer approvals
Ensures any variations to the scope, design or drawings are captured in the Event Note System
Follows up with team, monitors the progress of the team and provides remaining forecast hours to complete the job on a weekly basis
Execute project communication using the JobHub ensuring that all correspondence is generated and filed
Assists Project Managers in formulating a cost analysis with justification in large variations
Resolves engineering technical issue across disciplines, as and when they occur via Project Managers
Coordinates outside design activities to ensure they are synchronised with in-house design activities
Coordinates directly with vendors for vendor data information or through Project Managers
Ensures designs used in the designated jobs are validated
Obtains third party design approval and registration
Carries out root cause analysis for any event note raised to engineering
Creates and maintains company and reference standards for engineering designs and procedures
Researches and creates new or first time drawing and documents required by client
Ensures that all email correspondence, drawing and documents relevant to projects are saved in the job repository
Assists sales in estimation, bidding, BOM and development activities by providing technical sketches and drawings as required
Prepares engineering close out reports and arranges to complete as built drawing after the job is completed
Performs special tasks as assigned and reports any critical risks to the Head of Operations

Skills and Experience:
Shall be Master s in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 years experience
Has executed consultant projects e.g Petrofac, SNC, Armaco, PDO, etc
Knowledge of selection of API & ASME pumps, Valves selection
Knowledge on basis of Instruments, control valve, electrical cable tray
Knowledge of design standard ASME section VIII Div I, TEMA, ASME B31.3, ASME B31.1, API 650, Pvelite, Autocad
Should have experience in executing consultant project order for minimum 5 years as Lead design engineer.
Knows aspects of Jord products and shall be a self-starter with minimum supervision required
Work cross functionally with team members at all levels across multiple departments
Excellent attention to detail and willing to give input via sketches
Facilitates teamwork and possesses a positive attitude
Able to handle workload effectively and willing to take on more
Identifies problems independently and resolves to prevent re-occurrence
Works quickly and improves the company s current tools and systems
