Engineer - Contracts & Procurement

Role & responsibilities :

1. Review and understand the organization's procurement needs, both for goods and services.

2. Source and identify reliable suppliers and vendors.

3. Request, compare, and evaluate quotes and proposals from different suppliers to ensure the best price and quality.

4. Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, including price, payment terms, and delivery schedules.

5. Prepare and issue purchase orders based on the company's requirements and approved budgets.

6. Manage lead times and delivery schedules to ensure no disruption to operations.

7. Close coordination with user for technical clearance for the suitable materials.

8. Develop strong working relationships with vendors and suppliers, fostering a long-term partnership.

9. Prepare and maintain accurate records of all procurement activities, including costs, purchase orders, invoices, and supplier agreements.

10. Ensure that all purchasing activities comply with company policies, regulations, and procurement best practices.

11. Development of cost effective vendors.

Preferred candidate profile :

• B.E. / B. Tech / Marine Graduate / 4-6 Years Experience with Diploma in Engineering in any Discipline
• Procure-to-pay process, including requisitioning, purchasing, receiving, invoicing, and paying for goods and services.
• Evaluating and strategic sourcing of potential suppliers.
• Devising initiatives to drive procurement performance.
• Maintaining advantageous relationships with suppliers and managing disputes.
• Monitoring supplier performance for optimal business operations performance.
• Creating RFQs and overseeing competitive bidding cycles.
• Negotiating contracts with vendors to secure the best deals and terms.
