Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Tech Support Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills in managing and troubleshooting various systems and applications in both Windows and Linux environments. This is a rotational shift role that requires the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and communicate technical issues clearly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operating System Knowledge:

• Manage and maintain Windows 10/11 and Linux (CentOS 7) systems, ensuring smooth operation and security.

2. Hardware Support:

• Diagnose and resolve hardware-related issues including CPU, RAM, HDD, and Network Card problems.

3. Networking & Troubleshooting:

• Understand and troubleshoot issues related to TCP/UDP ports, OSI Model, LAN cables, IP Addresses, and Subnetting.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Cloud-based applications.

4. Error Log Analysis:

• Ability to interpret and analyze system error logs (including httpd, database errors, NFS, etc.) to identify and resolve issues promptly.

5. Linux Skills:

• Proficient in using the command-line interface (CLI) for daily Linux tasks.
• Familiar with key Linux commands like top, htop, free, df, find, grep, ps, etc.
• Install and configure Linux servers (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Expertise in NFN, DHCP, Cron jobs, Routing, SSH, SCP, rsync, and database backups.
• Ability to manage services, including starting and stopping them, and ensuring system stability.

6. Remote Connectivity:

• Experience with tools for connecting to remote machines such as Putty, WinSCP, AnyDesk, and similar tools.

7. Shift and Time Management:

• Ability to work in rotational shifts and handle tasks within deadlines while managing workload priorities.

8. Communication Skills:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with the team, troubleshoot issues, and document findings.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in system administration or relevant field.
• Strong understanding of Linux operating systems (CentOS, RHEL, Ubuntu).
• Basic understanding of Windows systems (10/11).
• Familiarity with networking concepts and troubleshooting.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
