Credit Underwriter - US Market (4-7 yrs)

Credit Analysis & Underwriting:

- Thoroughly analyze financial data of small to mid-sized businesses (SMBs) to assess creditworthiness, including reviewing tax returns, bank statements, financial statements, credit reports, and other relevant documentation.

- Apply sound underwriting judgment and expertise to make informed credit decisions within established policy frameworks and risk appetite.

- Evaluate loan applications, determine appropriate loan structures, pricing, and terms, and recommend credit limits.

- Identify and mitigate potential credit risks, escalating complex or high-risk cases as needed.

Customer Interaction & Relationship Management:

- Engage directly with customers (SMB owners/representatives) to understand their business models, financial needs, and borrowing requirements.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing excellent service and support throughout the loan process.

- Effectively communicate credit decisions, explaining terms and conditions clearly and professionally.

Portfolio Management & Performance Monitoring:

- Independently manage a pipeline of loan applications, ensuring timely and efficient decision-making while meeting established service level agreements (SLAs).

- Monitor loan performance and identify potential early warning signs of credit deterioration.

- Collaborate with the collections team to manage delinquent accounts and minimize losses.

Policy & Process Improvement:

- Proactively identify opportunities to improve underwriting policies, procedures, and processes.

- Contribute to the development and implementation of automated credit decisioning tools and strategies.
