Transport Manager

Job Summary: The Transportation Coordinator will be responsible for organizing and managing the movement of goods by arranging third-party vehicles. The role focuses on coordinating with external transport vendors, negotiating rates, optimizing delivery schedules, and ensuring timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

Transportation Arrangement:

• Coordinate with third-party transport service providers to arrange vehicles ranging from 10 tons to 30 tons for the transportation of AAC blocks in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions.
• Plan and schedule deliveries based on client requirements and timelines.
• Monitor the progress of deliveries and ensure goods reach their destination on time.

Vendor Coordination:

• Build and maintain relationships with reliable third-party vehicle providers.
• Source new vendors to ensure competitive rates and quality service.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with transport vendors to optimize costs.

Documentation & Compliance:

• Maintain accurate records of orders, vehicle bookings, delivery details, and vendor agreements.
• Ensure that all transportation documentation (e.g., invoices, bills of lading, permits) is in order.
• Verify compliance with safety regulations and legal requirements during transportation.

Communication:

• Act as the main point of contact between vendors, clients, and internal teams.
• Provide timely updates on delivery schedules, delays, and issues.
• Address and resolve transportation-related problems quickly and efficiently.

Cost Monitoring:

• Track and analyze transportation expenses to identify areas for cost savings.
• Ensure the most economical and efficient transportation solutions are utilized.

Performance Reporting:

• Generate reports on vendor performance, transportation costs, and delivery timelines.
• Recommend improvements to enhance transportation efficiency.

Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience:

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in coordinating transportation or logistics, preferably involving third-party vehicles.

Skills:

• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and logistics software/tools.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work efficiently.

Knowledge:

• Familiarity with transportation documentation and industry regulations.

Working Conditions:

• Office-based role with occasional visits to transport providers or delivery sites.
• Flexibility to handle urgent transportation needs outside of regular working hours.
