Database Administrator - Oracle DB (3-8 yrs)

Job Summary :

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Oracle Database Administrator to join our team.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration, with a strong focus on disaster recovery and high availability.

You will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our Oracle database environments, as well as developing and implementing robust disaster recovery strategies.

Responsibilities :

- Install, configure, and maintain Oracle database instances and related components.

- Perform database patching, upgrades, and migrations.

- Monitor database performance and implement tuning strategies to optimize performance.

- Manage database security, including user access control and auditing.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues promptly.

- Implement and maintain database backup and recovery procedures.

- Design, implement, and maintain disaster recovery solutions using Oracle Data Guard, Oracle RAC, and RMAN.

- Develop and execute disaster recovery testing plans.

- Ensure data integrity and availability during disaster recovery scenarios.

- Automate disaster recovery tasks using shell scripting.

- Maintain and document DR procedures.

- Develop and implement comprehensive backup and recovery strategies using RMAN.

- Perform regular database backups and verify their integrity.

- Conduct disaster recovery simulations and tests.

- Maintain and document backup schedules.

- Work with Linux/Unix and Windows-based operating systems in relation to Oracle database environments.

- Monitor operating system performance and troubleshoot issues.

- Ensure proper configuration of OS for optimal database performance.

- Develop and maintain shell scripts (Bash, Perl, etc.) to automate database administration and disaster recovery tasks.

- Create scripts for database monitoring, reporting, and maintenance.

- Automate repetitive tasks.

- Analyze and resolve complex database and disaster recovery-related issues.

- Identify and implement preventive measures to minimize downtime.

- Create and maintain detailed documentation for database configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.

- Generate regular reports on database performance and availability.

Required Skills and Qualifications :

- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Oracle database administration and disaster recovery management.

- In-depth knowledge of Oracle database architecture, installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning.

- Extensive experience with Oracle Data Guard, Oracle RAC, and RMAN.

- Proficiency in Oracle backup and recovery strategies.

- Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows operating systems.

- Experience with shell scripting (Bash, Perl, etc.

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

- Excellent attention to detail and ability to anticipate risks.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Oracle certifications (e., Oracle Certified Professional - OCP).

- Experience with cloud-based Oracle database solutions (e., Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).

- Experience with GoldenGate.

- Experience with other database technologies
