Internal Auditor

Position Overview:

The Internal Auditor is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and governance processes within the organization. This role ensures compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and financial best practices while identifying areas for process improvement.

Role & responsibilities:

1. Audit Planning & Execution:

• Develop and implement internal audit plans based on risk assessments.
• Conduct financial, operational, and compliance audits to assess control effectiveness.
• Evaluate business processes and ensure adherence to internal policies and external regulations.

2. Risk Assessment & Internal Controls:

• Identify risks and control weaknesses across various departments.
• Recommend improvements to mitigate risks and enhance operational efficiency.
• Ensure proper documentation and implementation of internal controls.

3. Compliance & Regulatory Adherence:

• Ensure compliance with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
• Assist in developing policies and procedures to strengthen compliance frameworks.
• Stay updated on changes in financial laws and industry best practices.

4. Reporting & Documentation:

• Prepare audit reports with findings, risks, and recommended corrective actions.
• Communicate audit results to management and suggest process improvements.
• Maintain accurate records of audit work and follow up on action items.

5. Fraud Detection & Prevention:

• Investigate potential fraud cases and irregularities.
• Support the development of fraud detection strategies and controls.
• Report suspicious activities to senior management and recommend actions.
• Collaboration & Continuous Improvement:
• Work closely with different departments to implement best practices.
• Provide training and awareness on internal controls and compliance.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

Experience & Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, Semi Qualified CA/CMA or a related field.
• 4-6 years of experience in internal auditing, risk management, or financial compliance.

Technical & Other Skills:

• Strong knowledge of auditing standards, accounting principles, and internal control frameworks.
• Experience with audit software and data analytics tools is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Requires travel for site audits, depending on company operations.
