Project Manager - Electrical Engineer

Job Overview:

The Manager ECPM will be responsible for the overall management, execution, and successful delivery of electrical services within the university's ongoing projects. This individual will coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to ensure the timeliness, quality, and safety of electrical services for the Sports Complex Building and Seminar Hall Building.

1. Key Responsibilities:

Project Management:

• Oversee the electrical services in various projects, ensuring timeliness, quality, and safety throughout the construction process.
• Manage electrical works related to building construction such as sports complex and seminar hall buildings.
• Coordinate with contractors to track, monitor, and ensure adherence to project timelines and budgets.

Quality and Safety Management:

• Implement all quality control and safety procedures on-site, ensuring the electrical work is carried out according to industry standards.
• Participate in site inspections, and resolve any issues related to electrical installations promptly.
• Ensure electrical work complies with approved construction drawings and project specifications.

Coordination and Liaison:

• Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and MEP consultants for smooth execution of the electrical works.
• Review and approve technical documents such as installation method statements, shop drawings, and Technical Data Sheets (TDS) from contractors.
• Ensure proper alignment between project design, specifications, and electrical installations on-site.

Site Supervision:

• Supervise the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems, including LT/HT panels, transformers, DG sets, cable trays, and bus ducts.
• Ensure the installation and testing of fire detection systems, TV, telephone, and data systems meet the required standards.
• Oversee the electrical work involving wiring, cabling, termination, and conduit installations.

Progress Monitoring and Reporting:

• Track the progress of electrical work in line with scheduled milestones.
• Attend site progress meetings and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Maintain detailed records of site activities, inspections, and approvals.

Billing & Budgeting:

• Participate in BOQ finalization and tender negotiations with vendors and contractors.
• Review contractors monthly RA bills, verify measurements, and approve material deviations.
• Monitor project costs and ensure work is executed within the allocated budget.

Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution:

• Address and resolve any electrical issues or deviations promptly to minimize project delays.
• Conduct off-site inspections of proposed materials and equipment as required by the project manager.

2. Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor of Technology in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP project execution, specifically in electrical engineering, with a proven track record of handling commercial, institutional, and residential projects.

3. Key Technical Skills:

• Expertise in electrical systems, including HT/LT panels, transformers, DG sets, fire alarm systems, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Proficiency in conducting electrical load calculations, project scheduling, and site management.
• Familiarity with various MEP systems like HVAC, plumbing, WTP, STP, firefighting systems, and more.
• Experience in reviewing and preparing BOQs, cost estimation, and billing for electrical services.
