The Opportunity

MSP (Nutanix Microservices platform) provides the infrastructure that drives our management and control plane. The team operates in a fast paced environment like a startup with 30+ people across the globe. The team is looking for a senior technical leader who can provide technical mentorship to the team, and drive new features for the infrastructure platform. The platform is scaling up and onboarding many new applications. Adding capabilities to meet the demands of the new applications in a timely manner, and ensuring a stable infrastructure provides unique and interesting challenges. Nutanix has built an enterprise-ready, unified cloud platform with its market leading HCI (hyperconverged infrastructure) solution as the foundation. We are now in the journey of making the path to hybrid multicloud easier for our customers. We will continue our journey in cloud-native space where the possibilities are immense. Microservices platform team is developing the best-of-breed container orchestration platform with Kubernetes and many more CNCF projects that will be instrumental in building the data centers of the future.

Your Role

• Senior technical leader providing technical mentorship for a large team, and driving multiple features for the Microservices platform.
• Strong working knowledge of containers, microservices and cloud native architecture.
• Hands on experience with resource monitoring and resource management in kubernetes based infrastructure.
• Good software development practices: should thrive in an environment of rapid development, peer code reviews, and write good functional/unit tests.
• Strong knowledge of Distributed Systems, Networking fundamentals , System design experience.
• Nice to have: Network Services - CNI plugins, Load-Balancers, Security, QOS, etc.
  Experience working in virtual machines and distributed systems. Experience in AWS, Google and Azure Cloud ecosystems. Knowledge of container observability stack

What You Will Bring

• BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent. 15+ years of experience with distributed systems and client-server architectures.
• Motivated, self driven and solution seeker with a track record of driving large teams in developing infrastructual services for cloud native applications.
• Hands-on development in Golang Programming.
• Strong development experience on Linux/Unix OS platform.
• Experience in resource monitoring and resource management in kubernetes based environments.
• Experience developing software for containerized platforms like Kubernetes.
• Experience with working with applications within hyperscalers including AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Solid understanding of Kubernetes Custom Resource and controller development.

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. For most roles, that will mean coming into an office a minimum of 2 - 3 days per week, however certain roles and/or teams may require more frequent in-office presence. Additional team-specific guidance and norms will be provided by your manager.
