Internal Audit - Sr/Chief Manager

Chola MS General Insurance Company Limited is a Joint Venture between the Murugappa Group and Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Company Limited, Japan. Chola MS offers a wide range of insurance products that include Motor, Health, Property, Accident, Engineering, Liability, Marine, Travel and Crop insurance for individuals and corporates.

Role & responsibilities

The position will be leading a team of Qualified Chartered Accountants and responsible for conducting financial audits, preparing audit reports, utilizing analytical skills and engage with stakeholders for effective closure of the audit findings.

1. Ensure all the assigned audits (as per Board Approved Annual Plan) are completed on time and final reports are issued to Executive Management.

2. Finalize audit reports, conduct post audit meetings, and follow up for timely closure of the report.

3. Supervise a team of qualified professionals for completion of assigned audits.

4. Mentor and coach team members, focussing on professional development for team success and career progression.

5. Collaborate with cross functional team within the IA Function to ensure alignment, delivering impactful solutions and support.

6. Regularly interface with other teams and departments to understand processes and procedures, identify root cause, and effectively communicate observations and/ or recommendations.

7. Identify opportunities to improve existing processes

Preferred candidate profile

1. Chartered Accountant with 5+ years of post-qualification experience in conducting audits in Insurance/ Construction-Engineering Companies.

2. Relevant Certification (e.g., CIA/ CFE/ CISA) is a plus.

3. Knowledge of Ind AS and other applicable standards in insurance and construction/ engineering company.

4. Understanding of reserving, reinsurance, coinsurance, and premium accounting (relevant to general insurance company).
