Mining Engineer For Zambia (International location)

Role & responsibilities

1. A deep understanding of extraction and processing methods, optimizing mining operations, and ensuring compliance with local and international standards.
2. Overseeing complete mining operations and maintaining proper safety standards.
3. Developing and evaluating mine operating strategies, short and long-term planning, and providing technical support for all mining functions to ensure effective mine design practices and execution in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
4. Achieving targeted manganese production as per the Annual Business Plan.
5. Ensuring consistent dispatch of manganese in terms of quantity and quality for export.
6. Operational knowledge of mining equipment.
7. In consultation with the Planning team, executing the deployment of Shovel and Dump Trucks for optimum production.
8. Assigning roles and responsibilities to subordinates and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements.
9. Implementing and adhering to effective asset management processes.
10. Demonstrating strategic thinking and planning skills.
11. Managing drilling, blasting, and haul road preparation/maintenance.
12. Managing waste dumps.
