Job Description
As an Data Scientist, you will be responsible for analysing large datasets, developing predictive models, and providing data-driven insights to support business decisions. You will apply advanced statistical techniques, machine learning algorithms, and data visualization tools to solve complex problems and optimize business performance.
Key Responsibilities: - Data Analysis Processing
- Analyse, manipulate, and process large datasets using statistical software.
- Clean and preprocess raw data to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Apply sampling techniques and determine appropriate methodologies for data collection and analysis.
- Identify patterns, trends, and relationships within data to support strategic decision-making.
- Predictive Modelling Machine Learning
- Apply feature selection algorithms to improve model accuracy in predicting key outcomes (e.g., sales, attrition, healthcare usage).
- Develop and test mathematical and statistical models for forecasting and optimization.
- Compare models using statistical performance metrics such as loss functions and explained variance.
- Continuously refine and validate models to ensure high predictive accuracy.
- Business Problem-Solving Strategy
- Identify business problems or management objectives that can be addressed through data analysis.
- Provide data-driven recommendations to optimize budgeting, staffing, and marketing decisions.
- Collaborate with business leaders and stakeholders to develop data-driven solutions for operational efficiency.
- Develop scientific or mathematical models to support strategic planning.
- Data Visualization Reporting
- Create graphs, charts, and dashboards to visualize insights and trends effectively.
- Prepare analytical reports that summarize findings and provide actionable recommendations.
- Deliver oral or written presentations of research results to management and other stakeholders.
- Develop interactive visualizations to communicate complex data-driven insights.
- Research Continuous Learning
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in data science, analytics, and AI technologies.
- Read scientific articles, conference papers, and industry reports to identify innovative techniques.
- Recommend and implement cutting-edge data analysis methodologies to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Programming Algorithm Development
- Write and optimize custom scripts and functions in programming languages such as Python, R, SQL, or Java.
- Develop automated data processing workflows for large-scale analysis.
- Implement and maintain data science models for operational decision-making.
Required Skills Competencies:
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, SQL, SAS, MATLAB).
- Expertise in machine learning algorithms and statistical modeling techniques.
- Strong knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib, Seaborn).
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, AWS, Google Cloud).
- Ability to analyze business or financial data and derive actionable insights.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for translating data insights into business strategies.
- Knowledge of survey design, polling methodologies, and data collection techniques.
- Experience in writing and optimizing code for data science applications.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 1+ year of experience in data science, machine learning, or business analytics.
- Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, predictive modelling, and AI technologies.
- Hands-on experience with programming languages (Python, R, SQL, Java, etc.).
- Industry certifications in Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI (preferred but not mandatory).
