Job Description: Assistant Manager - Procurement (Iron Ore and Coal)

Position Summary:
The Assistant Manager - Procurement will support the procurement team in sourcing, negotiating, and managing the supply of iron ore and coal. The role involves assisting in developing procurement strategies, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. This position requires experience in the procurement of iron ore and coal, along with a good understanding of supply chain operations in the mining and resource sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Procurement Support:
   
• Assist in the development and execution of procurement plans for iron ore and coal.
• Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and adherence to quality standards.
• Provide support in contract negotiations and vendor onboarding.
2. Vendor Management:
   
• Maintain relationships with existing suppliers and assist in identifying new vendors.
• Monitor supplier performance and address issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing.
• Ensure supplier compliance with company policies and standards.
3. Market Research:
   
• Conduct research on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and supply risks for iron ore and coal.
• Provide data and insights to support procurement decisions and strategy development.
4. Cost and Budget Management:
   
• Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities in procurement activities.
• Monitor and report on procurement expenditures to ensure alignment with budgets.
5. Operational Coordination:
   
• Collaborate with internal teams, including logistics, operations, and finance, to ensure smooth procurement processes.
• Support the resolution of any supply chain disruptions or delays.
6. Compliance and Reporting:
   
• Ensure procurement activities adhere to organizational and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare and maintain procurement reports, contracts, and documentation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
• 7-10 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the iron ore and coal sectors.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office tools.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with bulk material handling and transportation.
• Knowledge of sustainability and ESG practices in procurement.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Must have experience in Iron Ore and Coal Procurement.
