Job Summary:

The Job Controller plays a crucial role in ensuring efficient workshop operations by coordinating and distributing job assignments to technicians, monitoring work progress, and ensuring timely vehicle servicing and repairs. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills to maintain workflow efficiency, optimize technician productivity, and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate should have experience in workshop management, job scheduling, and technical knowledge of automotive repairs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Job Allocation & Workflow Management:

• Assign repair and service tasks to technicians based on their skills and workload.
• Monitor job progress to ensure timely completion and adherence to service deadlines.
• Maintain an organized job card system, ensuring all repair details are recorded accurately.
• Coordinate with the Parts Department to ensure the availability of required spare parts.

2. Quality Control & Efficiency Monitoring:

• Inspect completed jobs to ensure they meet quality standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Identify delays and bottlenecks in workflow and implement corrective measures.
• Ensure that technicians follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety regulations.

3. Communication & Customer Service:

• Work closely with service advisors to update customers on job status and estimated completion time.
• Provide technical support and solutions for complex repair issues.
• Address customer concerns regarding service delays or additional repairs.

4. Reporting & Documentation:

• Maintain accurate records of job progress, technician productivity, and service completion times.
• Generate daily, weekly, and monthly reports on workshop performance.
• Ensure proper documentation of warranty repairs and claims as per manufacturer policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Diploma or degree in Automobile/Mechanical Engineering or relevant field.
• 2 to 4 years of experience in workshop operations or automotive service management.
• Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes and workshop workflow.
• Proficiency in job card management and workshop scheduling software.
• Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate between technicians, service advisors, and customers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in both mechanical and electrical automotive repairs.
• Familiarity with dealership service operations and warranty handling.
• Knowledge of computerized job management systems

Work Environment:

• Fast-paced workshop environment with frequent interaction with technicians and service advisors.
• Requires attention to detail and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
