Sr Manger Mechanical Chemical -Design Engineering

Role & responsibilities

Candidate shall be reporting to Departmental Head - & shall perform the following responsibilities

Key Qualification:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering/ Chemical Engineering; a master’s degree is a plus.
• 10 to 15 years of experience in mechanical / Process design engineering, preferably in environmental, water treatment, Waste To Energy Plants or related industries.
• (Desired) Past Track record of Site & Commissioning assistance
• ERP knowledge will add Weightage
• Experience working on EPC & BOOT projects will be preferred
• Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, CAESAR II , 3D Model Software (SolidWorks,; Autoplant 3D, PDMS, PDS or similar tools)
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, piping design, and equipment specifications.
• Experience with international and local mechanical engineering standards and codes.
• Proven leadership and project coordination skills.
• Understanding of Key Deliverables such as P&ID, PFD, Equipment Layout , Civil GA , Equipment GA , Static and rotating equipment, Valve Specification, Piping Specifications, piping layout, isometrics , Piping BOQ, etc Leadership & Management:

• Lead a team of designers, drafters, & engineers, providing guidance and expertise on design engineering for BOOT & EPC Projects which provides solution on Waste To Energy; Biogas polishing & liquification, wastewater treatment; Resource Recovery as per client demands.

• Should caters project timelines, resource allocation, and engineering deliverables to meet organizational and client expectations.

• Face regular design review meetings and ensure that design engineering aligns with project requirements and industry best practices.

Design & Technical Oversight:

• Develop and approve designs for assigned project, including preliminary and detailed designs, layouts, P&ID, GA drawings, equipment specifications, piping engineering, valves specification, etc

• Inquiry release & technical review of bought-out items such as pumps, blowers, mechanisms, Package vendors etc

• Ensure designs incorporate required regulations, industry international standards, environmental and safety guidelines.

• Review and validate design calculations, hydraulic modelling, and technical drawings to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

• 3D Model review, resolving mismatches with package vendors, Clash Detection

• ERP awareness

Coordination with Internal & External Customers

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to ensure that designs align with construction needs, budgetary constraints, and timeline requirements.

• Communicate with clients & consultant to understand their needs and incorporate feedback into the design process.

• Coordinate with procurement and vendors for material specifications and availability to ensure design feasibility.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Implement quality assurance procedures and ensure adherence to ISO, OSHA, and other regulatory standards

• Regularly update design guidelines and drawing standards based on industry advancements and regulatory changes.

• Conduct design audits and evaluate projects for potential risks, optimizing designs to meet efficiency and safety standards.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Promote innovation in designs, staying updated on the latest technologies and trends within the industry.

• Implement improvements to design processes, software tools, and resource management practices.
