Infection Control Nurse

• Takes a leading role in the effective functioning of the Infection Control Team.
• Assists the HICC in drawing up annual plans and policies for infection control.
• Ongoing contribution to the development and implementation of infection control policies and procedures, participation in audit, and monitoring tools related to infection control and infectious diseases.
• Supports Infection Prevention and Control Program as Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives
• To supervise infection prevention and control procedures carried out in the hospital.
• To ensure availability of appropriate resources, facilities and equipments for infection prevention and control activities.
• To provide specialist nursing inputs in the identification, prevention, monitoring and control of HAI within the hospital.
• To carry out regular surveillance activities of all high-risk areas in the hospital.
• To identify and investigate an outbreak and collecting and coordinates surveillance data for the same.
• To carry out surveillance of occupational exposure.
• To carry out surveillance of Antibiotic use in wards and critical areas.
• To coordinate isolation of an infected patient.
• To coordinate in providing information regarding notifiable diseases to medical record department for notifying government authorities.
• To supervise disinfection and sterilization procedures carried out in the hospital.
• To organize the training and awareness program for all health care providers related to infection prevention and control practice.
• To supervise on Biomedical Waste (BMW) management program in the hospital.
• To prepare the monthly reports of surveillance.
• To coordinate for Environmental Surveillance (air, swabs and water) culture results.
• Demonstrates loyalty, perform responsibility, and maintains work confidentiality
• Able and willing to seek out new methods, principles and incorporate them into existing practices by attending external / internal workshops, CNEs and other training programs.
• Any other duties, assignments or delegations assigned.

Qualification - BSC/MSC

Experience - 2 yrs to 10 yrs.
