Primary Purpose of the role

The Kmart Group are embarking on a program of work to implement a new WMS (Warehouse Management System) as part of investment into and uplift of its supply chain capability. Within this program there is a stream of work focused on integrating the new WMS to a suite of upstream and downstream systems. This role will contribute directly to the realization of a Supply Chain Integration and Service Layer.

Individual contributors with responsibility in a professional or technical discipline or specialty but may manage two or fewer employees. May direct the work of other lower-level professionals or manage processes and programs. Most of the time is spent overseeing the design, implementation or delivery of processes, programs and policies using specialised knowledge and skills typically acquired through advanced education

Years of Experience – 7 to 10 years

Technical Skills:

• Own the Engineering deliverables, including technical design, coding, testing, and debugging
• Excellent knowledge of continuous integration, infrastructure as code, application release automation concepts, frameworks & tool
• Possesses high level understanding in the areas of application programming, API & databases and system design
• Proven experience regarding development of standards and processes for operations that proactively prevent problems from occurring
• Extensive AWS and related Cloud infrastructure expertise
• Advanced knowledge of Java with Spring Boot and Docker.
• Experience of working with event driven architecture using Kafka
• Hands on experience with Gradle, GitHub actions and Terraform will be an added advantage.
• Demonstrated use of Agile delivery principles and associated tools (e.g. Jira), active participation in team rituals

• Led architecture and design of large solutions independently with some support from solution architects
• Actively participated in architecture forums and presents solutions
• Experience working in retail, manufacturing or logistics verticals
• Demonstrated stakeholder engagement with the ability to influence product owners, delivery managers and architects
• Demonstrated acknowledgement of responsibility for the performance of their team and the quality of its work
• Lead architecture and design of large solutions independently with some support from solution architects
• Actively participated in architecture forums and presents solutions
• Experience working in retail, manufacturing or logistics verticals
