Finance Controller - Agribusiness Greenfield (12-15 yrs)

Job Title: Project Finance Controller, Greenfield Agro Processing Unit

Job type: Fixed Term Consultant 12 months (Apply only if you are comfortable with a one year project)

Experience: 12-15 years in project finance in Agri, food or related industries

Client is a global MNC in food ingredients space with an existing presence in Indian market. As part of their expansion, they are setting up a greenfield unit at Indore and seek an experienced finance controller to drive this expansion

Reporting to: Director Finance

Role Summary:

The selected candidate will support the Project Leader in installing and commissioning the upcoming manufacturing unit. S/He will align the project to corporate objectives by ensuring financial discipline, risk management, and optimal resource utilization.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Planning & Control:

- Forecast and Track project costs, monitor variances and ensure budget adherence.

- Implement robust financial controls to mitigate risks and optimize project expenditures.

Reporting & Compliance:

- Prepare periodic financial reports, cash flow statements, and cost analyses.

- Ensure compliance with local statutory requirements, tax regulations, and corporate policies.

- Coordinate with auditors, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders for financial reporting.

Risk Management & Governance:

- Provide strategic recommendations based on the financial implications of project decisions.

- Identify financial risks and implement mitigation strategies.

- Ensure adherence to governance frameworks, contracts, and financial policies.

Procurement & Vendor Management:

- Collaborate with procurement teams to manage vendor contracts and cost negotiations.

- Ensure timely vendor payments, budget approvals, and cost efficiency

ERP & Financial Systems:

- Utilize financial software (SAP, Oracle, or similar) to track expenditures and project performance.

- Ensure seamless integration of financial data into corporate reporting systems.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

- Chartered Accountant (CA), Cost Accountant (CMA/ISCWA), MBA (Finance) from a tier 1 B School.

- 10+ years of post-qualification experience in corporate finance, preferably in manufacturing, FMCG, pharmaceuticals or agro-processing industries.

- Proven expertise in project budgeting, cost control, and financial modelling.

- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

- Strong knowledge of Indian tax laws, GST, and financial regulations.

- Proficiency in SAP / ERP systems and MS Excel.

- Desired experience in greenfield manufacturing unit commissioning in food industries
