Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Overseas Education Counselor to join our team. The Overseas Education Counselor will be responsible for guiding and assisting students in selecting the student homes, right study programs and institutions abroad. The ideal candidate should have an in-depth understanding of the international education system, visa processes, scholarship opportunities, and be able to provide personalized counseling to students seeking higher education opportunities overseas.

Key Responsibilities:

• Student Counseling: Provide expert guidance to students on choosing the right study destination, university, and course based on their academic background, interests, and career aspirations.
• Application Assistance: Assist students in the application process for universities and educational institutions abroad, including preparing documents, submitting applications, and tracking progress.
• Visa Guidance: Guide students through the visa application process, including providing necessary documentation, filling out visa forms, and preparing for visa interviews.
• Scholarships and Funding: Advise students on available scholarships, financial aid, and loan options for studying abroad, and assist with scholarship applications.
• Personalized Career Guidance: Offer personalized career advice to students to help them understand the career prospects in their chosen field of study and its relevance in their desired country.
• University and Program Research: Stay up-to-date with universities, courses, and study programs globally, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is provided to students.
• Test Preparation and Requirements: Inform students about the required standardized tests (e.g., IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT) and assist them in preparing for these tests, if needed.
• Pre-departure Counseling: Provide pre-departure orientation to students, covering topics such as accommodation, travel, cultural adjustments, and health insurance.
• Student and Parent Interaction: Communicate regularly with both students and their parents to keep them informed throughout the application and decision-making process.
• Maintain Records: Keep detailed and accurate records of student profiles, applications, communications, and progress in CRM software.
• Marketing and Networking: Participate in marketing initiatives and events, including seminars, fairs, and workshops to promote the agencys services and generate new leads.
• Follow-up and Support: Maintain regular follow-up with students and clients to ensure a smooth application and admission process.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Excellent Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and educational institutions.
• Counseling Experience: Prior experience in student counseling, particularly in the field of overseas education, is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of Study Abroad Systems: In-depth knowledge of educational systems, admission processes, and visa requirements of key study destinations (e.g., USA, UK, Canada, Australia, etc.).
• Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple students’ applications and follow-ups simultaneously while ensuring high levels of service.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to address student concerns, find solutions, and guide them toward making informed decisions.
• Tech-Savvy: Familiarity with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and other software used for student record management.
• Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail in completing paperwork, applications, and ensuring deadlines are met.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Previous experience working with international students and universities.
• Familiarity with the latest trends and updates in the study abroad industry.
• Understanding of visa policies, immigration laws, and student loan options.
