Senior Medical Imaging AI Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Medical Imaging AI Engineer who is an individual performer, self-motivated and is able to lead the development, optimization, and deployment of advanced AI models and pipelines for medical imaging applications. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in imaging frameworks (MONAI, PyTorch, TensorFlow) and model optimization techniques (ONNX), with a proven track record in handling medical imaging data formats (DICOM, NIfTI). They should be capable of managing the entire AI software development lifecycle (SDLC), ensuring seamless integration into clinical workflows, and maintaining stringent healthcare compliance standards. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and a passion for innovation are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design, develop, and optimize deep learning models for medical image analysis using MONAI, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ONNX.

2. Ingest, preprocess, and normalize large-scale medical imaging datasets (DICOM, NIfTI) and implement data augmentation.

3. Oversee the full AI SDLC: from problem definition and model experimentation to validation, deployment, and maintenance.

4. Implement best practices in version control, CI/CD, and MLOps pipelines for reproducible and scalable model development.

5. Collaborate with engineering, product, and clinical teams to integrate AI models into production solutions and clinical workflows.

6. Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and maintain rigorous testing, documentation, and auditing standards.

7. Stay updated on emerging techniques and architectures to continually improve model performance.

8. Mentor junior team members and foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

Skills Required:

Must Have:

- Proven expertise (4+ years) in developing AI/ML solutions for medical imaging or related fields.

- Strong proficiency in MONAI, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and ONNX.

- Experience handling medical imaging data formats (DICOM, NIfTI) and preprocessing techniques.

- In-depth understanding of the AI SDLC, including data engineering, model training, evaluation, and deployment.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to translate clinical requirements into technical solutions.

Should Have:

- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and MLOps/CI/CD pipelines.

- Understanding of healthcare data privacy and security standards.

- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional and non-technical stakeholders.

Good to Have:

- Experience with advanced model optimization techniques (e.g., quantization, pruning) and hardware acceleration (GPU/TPU).

- Knowledge of transfer learning, ensemble methods, and cutting-edge deep learning architectures.

- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for large-scale data handling and deployment.

- Prior experience in mentoring teams and influencing technical strategies.
