Vice President - Software Engineering (10-12 yrs)

On behalf of our client, we are recruiting a Vice President of Engineering to lead their Product Development Centre of Excellence in India and drive growth in the region.

This is a strategic role for an experienced engineering leader who thrives in a globally distributed environment.

Key Responsibilities :

Product Development Leadership :

- Past experience in leading and scaling the Product Development Centre of Excellence (Engineering Hub) in Pune, India.

- Drive end-to-end product delivery, ensuring high-quality, timely releases.

- Collaborate with senior leaders across Engineering, Product Management, and Design to align technical and strategic goals.

- Foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and high performance.

- Provide technical guidance on architecture, scalability, and product evolution.

- Act as a mentor for engineering leaders, elevating technical standards and decision-making.

Growth Hub Leadership :

- Build and expand the India engineering hub, recruiting and mentoring top engineering talent.

- Represent the company within the technology community in India and APAC.

- Ensure regulatory, legal, and compliance requirements for the site are met.

- Develop community engagement initiatives and contribute to corporate social responsibility programs.

- Oversee budgets related to employee experience and site operations.

Key Requirements :

- Minimum of 15+ years experience leading product development teams in both frontend and backend technologies.

- Proven success as a VP of Engineering or a similar senior leadership role.

- Strong background in SaaS architecture, software engineering, and large-scale product development.

- Experience leading globally distributed, cross-functional teams.

- Ability to drive both technical and strategic discussions with Engineering, Product Management, and Design.

- Deep expertise in scaling engineering teams, hiring top talent, and mentoring leaders.

- Strong engagement in the local software engineering community.

- Excellent communication and leadership skills with a strategic mindset.

- Experience with the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) model is a plus.

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).

- This is a hybrid role based in India, with some in-office presence required.

- Experience with specific technologies relevant to the company's products. (List specific technologies, e.g., Java, Python, AWS, Azure, etc.)

- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices
