Mep Manager

Job Summary: The MEP Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the MEP systems throughout the construction project lifecycle. This includes the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The role requires close collaboration with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to ensure the project's MEP components meet technical and safety standards, are delivered on time, and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:

• Oversee and coordinate the MEP design process, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and other systems.
• Review and approve MEP design drawings, specifications, and technical submittals.
• Ensure the integration of MEP systems with architectural and structural elements.
• Coordinate with other construction disciplines and manage the MEP project schedule.

Installation Management:

• Supervise the installation and commissioning of MEP systems on-site.
• Ensure all MEP installations are compliant with project specifications, standards, and local codes.
• Manage MEP subcontractors, ensuring performance and adherence to safety regulations.

Budget and Cost Control:

• Prepare and manage MEP budgets and track costs throughout the project lifecycle.
• Review and approve MEP-related change orders, ensuring cost control measures are implemented.

Quality Assurance:

• Conduct inspections and quality checks of MEP installations.
• Ensure that all MEP systems meet the required performance and operational standards.
• Implement testing and commissioning plans for MEP systems before handover.

Health & Safety:

• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations on-site.
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure MEP activities meet safety standards.
• Develop and maintain safety procedures for all MEP work.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain up-to-date records of all MEP-related documentation, including design changes, material approvals, and inspection reports.
• Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and senior management.

Stakeholder Communication:

• Liaise with clients, consultants, and authorities on MEP matters.
• Address and resolve any MEP-related issues during the construction phase.
• Lead coordination meetings with MEP subcontractors and the broader project team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 8-12+ years of experience in MEP project management in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection systems, and building codes.
• Proficiency in project management software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project).
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
