Responsibilities:
Image Management Job Description:Role Overview:As an Image Management Specialist within our WLS (Workload Solutions) team, you will be responsible for image build, drive pack development, and providing third-line support activities. Your role is crucial in ensuring the availability of standardized and optimized images for deployment across our environment, as well as providing expert-level support for image-related issues.Key Responsibilities:1.Image Build:oDevelop and maintain standardized images for various operating systems, including Windows and potentially others, ensuring consistency and compatibility with our hardware and software configurations.oCustomize images to include necessary applications, drivers, and configurations based on business requirements and user needs.2.Drive Pack Development:oCreate and manage driver packs for different hardware models to ensure seamless compatibility and functionality during image deployment.oTest and validate driver packs to ensure reliability and stability across various hardware configurations.3.Third-line Support:oProvide expert-level support for image-related issues escalated from lower support tiers, diagnosing and resolving complex technical problems efficiently.oCollaborate with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve image deployment and compatibility issues, ensuring minimal impact on end users.4.Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:oMaintain documentation and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for image build, drive pack development, and third-line support processes.oShare knowledge and best practices with team members to enhance collective expertise and efficiency.5.Shift Coverage:oProvide support coverage during designated hours, either 12x5 or 9x5 CET, depending on business requirements and support agreements.Qualifications and Skills:Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.Experience in image management and deployment, including image build, customization, and deployment automation.Proficiency in operating system deployment tools and technologies, such as Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT) or similar solutions.Strong understanding of hardware configurations and driver compatibility considerations.Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve image-related issues effectively.Attention to detail and the ability to follow established processes and procedures.Support Coverage:12x5 or 9x5 CET, depending on business requirementsCost Component:Technical Service Engineer Regular/ExpertComments:The Image Management Specialist role is critical for maintaining standardized and optimized images for deployment across our environment, ensuring consistency and compatibility across various hardware and software configurations.
