Electrical Maintenance Officer

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Electrical Maintenance Technician with expertise in the maintenance and management of electrical cables. The ideal candidate will ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of electrical cables in all systems and equipment. This role involves troubleshooting, testing, repairing, and maintaining various types of cables, such as power cables, communication cables, and control cables.

Key Responsibilities:

• Electrical Cable Maintenance:
  
• Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repair of electrical cables and related systems.
• Test and evaluate the condition of electrical cables using specialized equipment such as cable testers, insulation resistance testers, and cable fault locators.
• Troubleshoot and repair faults in cables, wiring, and associated electrical components.
• Ensure that electrical cables are installed, terminated, and tested according to industry standards and manufacturer guidelines.
• Installation and Upgrades:
  
• Assist with the installation and upgrading of new electrical cables in commercial, industrial, or residential buildings.
• Ensure proper installation and secure mounting of cables in accordance with safety regulations and electrical codes.
• Safety & Compliance:
  
• Follow safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment when handling and working with electrical cables.
• Adhere to local, state, and national electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and safety protocols.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs:
  
• Identify and diagnose electrical cable faults, including short circuits, open circuits, grounding issues, and other malfunctions.
• Perform repairs and replacements as needed, using appropriate materials and tools.
• Documentation and Reporting:
  
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, maintenance, and repairs conducted.
• Report any issues or potential hazards to the Maintenance Supervisor/Manager in a timely manner.
• Assist in the preparation of maintenance reports and logs for internal audits.
• Inventory Management:
  
• Assist in the management of cable inventory, ensuring that the correct type and quantity of cables are available for maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with suppliers for the procurement of necessary materials and parts.

Qualifications:

• Education:
  
• High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical certification or vocational training in electrical maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Certification in electrical safety or related discipline is an advantage (e.g., OSHA).
• Experience:
  
• Proven experience in electrical maintenance, with a focus on cable systems, installations, and troubleshooting.
• Experience working with high-voltage and low-voltage systems, control cables, and communication cables.
• Skills:
  
• Strong knowledge of electrical circuits, wiring, and cable types.
• Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
