Job Description

• Act as the test engineer for development project, performing test identification, test design and test execution in both waterfall and agile based projects
• Sound knowledge of test management tools and experience in systematically executing testing tasks using industry accepted best practices
• Need to work on testing a financial application hence require hands-on experience in testing financial processes like Account Receivables, Account Payables, General Ledger etc.
• Expertise in participating during the requirement gathering exercises, sprint planning / grooming sessions to collect the details of requirements
• Implement best practices in different types of testing including System testing, Regression testing, End to End testing, User Acceptance Testing, API Testing, DB Testing using SQL etc.
• Must have experience with documenting test cases, defect reports, and status reports. Experience in writing test plan is a plus.
• Knowledge in automation testing, performance testing, security testing etc. will be an added advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Following should be the responsibilities of a test engineer:

• Interact with the customer to understand complex requirements and get clarifications.
• Develop and execute test cases and track defects for the application under test.
• Implement industry best practices for system testing, regression testing, system integration testing, user acceptance etc.
• Testing of web application, mobile application, and APIs
• Hand on-on experience in Webservice testing using tools like Postman or other comparable tools
• Solid experience with test management tools
• Hand-on experience in Database testing and good knowledge in SQL
• Independently attend the Agile meetings with Agile teams (representing testing team) and provide status, raise issues and work to resolve issues
• Assist in the analysis of test results and liaise with other Development Team members
• Liaise with the QA Manager and Head of Products on matters relating to product quality and progress
• Work according to set organization and department related processes, procedures and policies
• Identify and implement technical innovations that add value and improve applications and work processes
