Job Summary:
The Testing Validation Engineer will be responsible for leading a team in testing, validating, and ensuring the reliability of battery packs, cells, and battery systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in identifying defects, performing root-cause analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless product integration. This role requires deep knowledge of battery technology, thermal management, data analytics, and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Specialize in tracking, testing, and diagnosing battery packs, cells, and battery systems.
Develop and implement comprehensive testing strategies for new battery designs and process improvements.
Lead and manage a team of testing and validation engineers, providing guidance and support in daily tasks.
Conduct prototype testing, product validation, and life-cycle testing at the battery cell, module, and pack level.
Develop and validate Battery Management System (BMS) algorithms for various applications.
Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for cell failure and degradation.
Solve live production issues to enhance performance and drive cost savings.
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as IEC, IS, UL, and AIS 156 for rechargeable batteries.
Work on design validation testing (DVT) for lithium-ion cells, battery packs, and battery management systems.
Contribute to homologation processes and liaise with certification agencies like ARAI, TUV, and BISS.
Collaborate with every department, including design, manufacturing, software, and quality assurance, to ensure seamless product development and integration.
Utilize tools like Vector CANoe, Peak CAN, Bus Master, and SBUS CAN for communication and diagnostics.
Required Skills Qualifications:
Expertise in thermal engineering, thermal runaway analysis, and battery thermal behavior.
Proficiency in data analytics, battery cycling analysis, and feasibility studies of battery packs.
Strong understanding of cell balancing, cell cycling, and data logging using thermocouples.
Hands-on experience in battery design, verification, testing, and validation in the EV industry.
Knowledge of EV architecture, including chargers, VCU, and related peripherals.
Experience in homologation and certification processes.
Familiarity with battery testing tools and software like CANoe, Peak CAN, and Bus Master.
Strong leadership skills with experience in managing teams and mentoring junior engineers.
Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure product reliability and compliance.
