Job Description

The Engineer Manager will be responsible for managing multiple software engineer teams that are designing and implementing features to scale and grow the platform.
This role will work closely with the Product Management team and key stakeholders to ensure technological solution delivery of product roadmaps.
As a part of our technology team, this role will contribute to our software by building technical requirements for each initiative, managing the delivery of features against product roadmaps and mentoring the growth of engineers.
This includes participating in agile development processes like sprint planning, stand-ups, reviews, retrospectives, sprint boards, backlogs and ticket management.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Assist in growing product engineering teams by participating in our interview process across Engineering, Product and Design teams.
Leads and mentors a team of engineers to deliver highly available cloud-based applications.
Perform employee check-ins and annual reviews.
Assist in employee career development by identify growth opportunities, establishing goals and outlining training paths.
Collaborate with tech leads and engineers to review and scope upcoming initiatives.
Assist in planning and prioritization of initiatives across multiple product roadmaps.
Effectively manages the delivery of initiatives and communication across multiple product roadmaps.
Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to ensure initiatives are meeting requirements.
Perform risk assessments on current initiatives and develop resolutions to meet goals and objectives.
Lead day-to-day activities and Agile ceremonies for a core product team.
Work with other engineering managers and tech leads to improve the engineering department processes, practices and culture.
Uses technical expertise and industry trends to influence business and development methodologies.
Desired Skills:
Bachelors or Master s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent experience.
8+ years Hands on Coding experience with strong knowledge of Java / Node / PHP / Laravel / Angular / Database tech stack.
4+ years front end JavaScript UI framework experience.
3+ years of software engineering management experience overseeing teams of 4+engineers.
Experience in interviewing and hiring personnel in software engineering roles on your teams.
Experience in managing and coaching individuals performance through review processes and providing guidance and feedback to help team members grow professionally.
Experience leading and managing teams that are geographically distributed and working remotely.
Positive and enthusiastic team player with strong interpersonal skills and collaborative orientation.
Must possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and works with others at all levels.
Should have handled a team, estimated the project budget and delivery time line from scratch.
