Billing Manager

Role & responsibilities The Planning and Billing Engineer is responsible for managing project schedules, estimating costs, overseeing budgeting processes, and handling billing activities for civil engineering projects. This role ensures that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract terms.

1. Project Planning:

• Develop and maintain project schedules using planning software such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project.
• Allocate resources effectively, including labour, materials, and equipment.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address schedule delays.

2. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for various project components, considering direct and indirect costs.
• Develop and manage project budgets, tracking expenditures against initial estimates.
• Implement cost control measures to stay within budget and identify cost-saving opportunities.

3. Billing and Financial Reporting:

• Prepare and submit invoices for completed work, ensuring alignment with contractual terms.
• Handle billing procedures, including verification and approval of subcontractor invoices.
• Generate financial reports detailing project costs, budget performance, and forecasts for stakeholders.

4. Documentation and Compliance:

• Ensure adherence to contract terms and manage changes to scope or terms.
• Maintain comprehensive records of project costs, contracts, and change orders.

5. Coordination and Communication:

• Communicate project progress and financial status to clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and team members to align planning and billing activities with project goals.

Required Skills and Qualifications: Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

Experience:

• Proven experience in project planning, cost estimation, and financial management in civil engineering projects.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in planning and scheduling software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
• Strong understanding of budgeting and financial software for billing and cost tracking.

Analytical Skills:

• Ability to analyze costs, identify discrepancies, and optimize resource allocation.

Communication Skills:

• Effective verbal and written communication skills for interacting with stakeholders and presenting financial data.
