Operational Excellence Consultant - Onsite

Role & responsibilities

Job Summary: The Operational Excellence (OE) professional is responsible for leading the continuous improvement efforts across the organization. This role focuses on identifying and implementing strategies that enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, improve quality, and ensure cost-effectiveness. The person in this role will work closely with leadership, cross-functional teams, and departments to drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Process Improvement & Optimization:
   
• Identify opportunities for process improvements in existing workflows, systems, and operations.
• Lead process mapping, root cause analysis, and gap assessments to identify inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Use Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to develop and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement plans.
• Collaborate with teams to standardize processes and streamline operations to improve productivity and quality.
2. Strategy Development & Implementation:
   
• Develop and execute operational excellence strategies and frameworks in alignment with organizational goals.
• Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of operational improvement initiatives.
• Ensure alignment of operational excellence initiatives with company-wide objectives.
3. Leadership & Team Collaboration:
   
• Work with leadership teams to promote a culture of operational excellence across all levels of the organization.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams to implement best practices and achieve measurable outcomes.
• Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to team members on continuous improvement tools and techniques.
4. Quality Management:
   
• Develop and implement quality assurance processes to ensure operational processes meet or exceed quality standards.
• Drive efforts to reduce errors, defects, and rework through continuous monitoring and analysis of operations.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting:
   
• Analyze performance data and metrics to identify trends, areas of improvement, and opportunities for operational efficiency.
• Prepare reports and presentations on operational performance and project status for senior management.
6. Change Management:
   
• Lead change management efforts related to operational improvements and process changes.
• Effectively communicate change initiatives to stakeholders and employees, ensuring buy-in and support throughout the organization.
7. Compliance & Risk Management:
   
• Ensure operational processes comply with industry regulations and company standards.
• Identify and mitigate risks associated with operational processes to maintain safety, quality, and efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Certifications: Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or similar certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, or Process Improvement methodologies.
• Experience: 3-7 years (depending on role level) of experience in operational excellence, process improvement, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing, logistics, or services industry.
• Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Experience with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).
• Data analysis and reporting proficiency (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).
• Project management experience with a focus on improving operational efficiencies.
• Ability to work across multiple functions and teams to drive results.
