Senior SQL Developer - Database Tuning (8-15 yrs)

Job Description :

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and understand database requirements.

- Design, develop, and maintain relational databases, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.

- Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions for data transformation.

- Optimize database performance by tuning queries, indexing tables, and monitoring resource utilization.

- Troubleshoot and resolve database issues, identifying and implementing solutions in a timely manner.

- Perform database migrations, upgrades, and data transfers while minimizing downtime and data loss.

- Develop and maintain database documentation, including data models, schemas, and processes.

- Collaborate with front-end and back-end developers to integrate database functionality into applications.

- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in SQL and database development.

- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members as needed.

- Good to have experience with tools such as Ab Initio, Informatica and Alteryx.

Qualifications :

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

- Proven experience as a SQL Developer with 4 to 7 years of relevant work experience.

- Proficiency in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions.

- Strong understanding of database design principles, normalization, and optimization.

- Experience with performance tuning, query optimization, and indexing.

- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts.

- Familiarity with database management systems such as Microsoft SQL Server.

- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues effectively.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

- Certifications related to database development and administration are advantageous.
