Role & responsibilities

Job Profile- Data Centre Lead

Location- Gurugram

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Center Operations & Management
• Oversee the daily operations of the data center infrastructure, including servers, storage, and networking.
• Ensure 99.99% uptime and high availability of critical IT systems.
• Monitor cooling, power, and environmental conditions to prevent system failures.
• Implement best practices for disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP).
• Network & Security Management
• Maintain and troubleshoot LAN/WAN, firewalls, and VPN configurations.
• Ensure data center compliance with security standards such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, and PCI DSS.
• Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability testing, and security audits.
• Team Leadership & Coordination
• Lead a team of data center engineers and IT specialists.
• Collaborate with vendors, service providers, and internal teams for smooth operations.
• Train team members on new technologies, best practices, and security protocols.
• Capacity Planning & Optimization
• Manage hardware & software upgrades, capacity planning, and resource allocation.
• Optimize server performance and reduce latency through virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, etc.).
• Ensure effective patch management and firmware updates.
• Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data center operations, IT infrastructure, and network management.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and on-premise data center management.
• Strong knowledge of Linux & Windows server environments, storage solutions (SAN/NAS), and backup strategies.
• Experience with server virtualization, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
• Expertise in network security, firewalls, load balancers, and intrusion detection systems (IDS/IPS).
• Familiarity with ITIL framework, SLA management, and compliance standards.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills.
• Preferred Certifications:
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect or Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP)
• ITIL v4 Foundation
• Certified Data Center Professional (CDCP

Mandatory Skills- Hitachi/Dell Storage, Wintel admin exposure, Strong knowledge of Linux & Windows server environments, storage solutions (SAN/NAS), and backup strategies.
