Calibration Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

Calibrating Instruments:

• Ensuring that instruments used for measuring physical quantities (like temperature, pressure, or electrical signals) meet specified standards.
• Using various calibration tools and reference instruments to check and adjust the accuracy of devices.

Maintaining Calibration Records:

• Keeping track of calibration schedules and documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Preparing calibration certificates for equipment.

Troubleshooting:

• Identifying and troubleshooting malfunctioning or out-of-specification instruments.
• Performing repairs or adjustments as necessary.

Standardization and Compliance:

• Ensuring instruments comply with national and international standards (e.g., ISO, ANSI).
• Participating in audits or inspections for certification purposes.

Communication:

• Working closely with other engineers or departments to understand calibration requirements.
• Providing training or support to staff on the correct usage of calibrated instruments.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Technical Knowledge: A solid understanding of the instruments you'll be calibrating and the underlying principles behind measurements.
• Attention to Detail: Calibration requires high precision, and being thorough is key.
• Basic Mathematics & Physics: Comfort with principles of measurement, error analysis, and applying corrections is crucial.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Troubleshooting equipment and finding solutions to calibration errors.
• Communication Skills: Ability to document and explain calibration results clearly.
