We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Architect to join our dynamic team. As a Business Intelligence Visualization Architect, you will play a pivotal role in designing and delivering high-performance business intelligence solutions. You will work closely with business leaders, analysts, and IT teams to understand business needs and transform them into robust business intelligence solutions. Your expertise in data modelling, report development, and performance optimization will be crucial to enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the design, development, and implementation of end-to-end BI solutions, including reports, dashboards, and data models.
Work with business stakeholders to understand requirements and create scalable BI architectures that meet business objectives .
Design and implement data models in Power BI, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and performance.
Integrate Power BI with multiple data sources, including SQL Server, Azure, and other cloud-based platforms, ensuring seamless data flow.
Optimize BI reports and dashboards for performance, efficiency, and user experience.
Develop and enforce best practices for BI development, including governance, security, and version control.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Troubleshoot complex issues related to data models, reports, and performance, ensuring timely resolution.
Stay current with Power BI updates, features, and industry trends to drive innovation in BI solutions.
Develop consultant decks and presentations to deliver consistent executive-level insights and information.
Dashboard Creation Management: Design, develop, and maintain a variety of Jira dashboards tailored to the specific needs of different projects, scrum teams, and stakeholders. This includes utilizing Jiras built-in features and potentially integrating with other reporting tools.
Requirements Gathering: Collaborate with project managers, scrum masters, and team members to understand their information needs and translate them into effective dashboard visualizations.
Training Support: Provide training and support to users on how to effectively use Jira and interpret the data presented in dashboards.
Reporting Analysis: Generate regular reports based on the data collected in Jira, highlighting key metrics, trends, and potential issues.
Staying Up-to-Date : Keep abreast of the latest Jira features, best practices, and industry trends to ensure our Jira implementation is optimized .
Documentation: Create and maintain clear documentation for Jira configurations, workflows, and dashboards.
Qualifications:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, especially around translating technical knowledge into accessible forms for non-technical project teams, leadership, and clients
Critical thinker who can develop an opinion and support it with persuasive arguments based on available evidence
Experience programming (beyond simple scripts) in a modern scientific language (e.g., Python, R) and experience with SQL, Oracle DB; Snowflake and SAS is a plus
Expertise in pulling and aggregating data sets from multiple data sources (Azure portals, performance systems, ServiceNow, Oracle ERP, Workday, Jira, SonarQube, etc.)
Experience in FinOps analysis and financial reporting
Ability to execute an analytics process from problem specification to solution
Develop work product-focused materials/outputs, including Power BI Dashboards, Jira Dashboards, PowerPoint decks, Excel models, articles, or other written deliverables.
Structure and organize ambiguous problems, tasks, and information, and be able to act independently
Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate) are a plus
Overall, 8-10 years of experience in Business Intelligence r eporting tools like Power BI/Tableau
Proven experience in BI architecture, design, and development.
Strong knowledge of DAX, Power Query, and data modelling best practices.
Experience with ETL processes, SQL, and database design.
Ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Ability to automate modifications of deployed Power BI reports using tools like the Power BI SDK.
Ability to automate the copying and modification of reports between workspaces using Power BI REST API, PowerShell, or Azure DevOps.
Utilize Microsoft Fabric components such as Data Factory, Lakehouse, and Data Warehouse.
Nice to have: DA-100 (Power BI), PL-300 (Power BI), DP-203 (Azure Data Engineering), DP-600 (Fabric Analyst)
Proven Experience: Extensive experience working with Jira, including creating complex dashboards, configuring workflows, and managing projects.
Dashboard Expertise: Deep understanding of Jiras dashboard capabilities and experience using various gadgets and filters to visualize data effectively.
Workflow Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Jira workflows and experience customizing them to meet specific business needs.
Agile Knowledge: Familiarity with Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum and Kanban, and how they are implemented within Jira.
