Business Analyst

Role & responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients, project managers, and end-users, to gather and document detailed business requirements.
• Conduct interviews, workshops, and surveys to understand business needs and translate them into functional specifications.
• Analyze existing business processes, workflows, and systems to identify areas of improvement.
• Develop process maps, flowcharts, and models to document current and future state processes.
• Work with the technical team to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
• Participate in solution design discussions, ensuring that the proposed solutions align with business goals and objectives.
• Prepare detailed business requirement documents (BRD), functional requirement documents (FRD), and use case scenarios.
• Create user stories, acceptance criteria, and other Agile artifacts if working within an Agile framework.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and the development team, ensuring clear and continuous communication.
• Organize and lead meetings, presentations, and demos to keep stakeholders informed of project progress and gather feedback.
• Assist in developing test plans and test cases to ensure that the final product meets the business requirements.
• Perform user acceptance testing (UAT) and work with the QA team to resolve any issues identified during testing.

Preferred candidate profile

Educational Background:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A Master's degree or MBA can be an added advantage.
• Certifications Optional but can be an added advantage.
• Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP)
• Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP)
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
• Professional Scrum Product Owner (PSPO)

Experience:

• 5-8 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the IT industry.
• Experience in working on software development projects, with a solid understanding of SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in business analysis tools such as Microsoft Visio, JIRA, Confluence, or other modeling and documentation tools.
• Familiarity with databases, SQL, and basic understanding of software architecture is a plus.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in Agile teams.

Soft Skills:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and propose solutions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
