- In depth knowledge of Java language, principles and design patterns including concepts from Java 8, e.g. lambdas, streams
- Understanding of paradigms of Object Oriented, Functional, Event Driven Programming
- Experience with Java frameworks e.g. JAIN SLEE, J2EE, Spring
- Good understanding of JVM including GC implementations, e.g. CMS, ParNew, G1, and performance tuning
- RDBMS systems, e.g. MySQL, and no-SQL systems e.g. Redis
- Client-Server protocols e.g. HTTP, SIP
- Transport protocols e.g. UDP, TCP, TLS
- Build frameworks, e.g. Maven, Ant
- CI/CD frameworks, e.g. Jenkins, Azure Devops, Gitlab CI/CD
- Command of Linux OS environment, command line, tools, user management, networking, with hands on experience Bash/Python scripting
- Virtualisation, containerisation, cloud frameworks, e.g. VirtualBox/Hyper-V, Docker, Azure/AWS/GCP/Openstack
- Git for code management
- Infrastructure as code frameworks, e.g. Ansible, Terraform
- Jira and Agile, Scrum
