Job Description
- Collaborates with PD data scientist and scientific experts to build predictive models to enable development portfolio decisions and acceleration
- Collect and curate data from multiple sources including electronic notebooks, spreadsheets, slide decks, and instrument files
- Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness across different data sets
- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to identify data sources and locations, understand data requirements and challenges, and provide data solutions
- Effectively communicates with scientific experts and data engineers
- Collaborate with business partners to develop novel ways to meet objectives utilizing cutting edge techniques and tools
- Stay connected with external sources of ideas through conferences and community engagements
- M.S in chemical engineering, pharmaceutical science, chemistry, biochemistry, physics or other quantitative area of study.
- Demonstrated interest in working with large datasets, data visualization tools, statistical software packages and platforms to solve problems.
- Familiarity with Python programing language
- Experience with software platforms used in data science and engineering, data analysis and data visualization a plus (e.g. Advanced SQL, PL/SQL, R, Python, Domino, AWS, GitHub, dbt, SAP HANA, Spotfire, Tableau, Hadoop, Redshift)
- Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, team-building, and communication skills to ensure effective collaborations within matrix teams.
- Exceptional analytical skills with substantial knowledge in field of study
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to quickly gain and apply functional area specific knowledge.
- Ability to learn new tools and skills quickly.
- Experience interpreting analytical results and ascertaining implications.
- Experience interacting with stakeholders: understanding, anticipating, and fulfilling their insight/analytical information requirements.
- Exceptional creative problem solving skills to answer key business questions.
