Cost Optimization Engineer

• Core responsibilities to include analyze Azure usage and spending data to identify trends and opportunities for cost optimization using the Azure cost optimization tools. Design automated solutions for Azure cost optimization, including auto-shutdown policies, automated resource management etc
• This is a new team that is getting set up with a focus on cost optimization. In this role one needs to collaborate with cloud architects, engineers, and financial analysts to identify areas for cost optimization, design and develop solutions to achieve cost savings
• Monitor and analyze Azure usage and spending data to identify trends and opportunities for cost optimization using the Azure cost optimization tools
• Implement and maintain Azure governance policies to enforce cost controls and optimize resource usage
• Participate in ongoing cloud optimization initiatives to continuously improve our Azure cost optimization strategies
• Collaborate with cloud architects, engineers, and financial analysts to identify areas for cost optimization and develop solutions to achieve cost savings
• Partner with engineering teams to ensure cost improvements are working
• Identify and raise technical, business, and operational risks and opportunities
• Create awareness and impact change in cloud infrastructure costs
• Demonstrate critical thinking and growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems
• Develop dashboards and reports to provide insights and recommendations to senior management
