Senior Trainer - IT Skills

Brief of Job Profile:

The Senior Trainer in Computing Skills is a leadership role responsible for designing, developing, and delivering advanced training programs in IT and computing. This position requires deep expertise in key technology areas such as web development, cybersecurity, cloud computing, networking, and emerging digital trends.

Roles and Responsibilities:

1. Create and maintain training materials, including manuals, presentations, and hands-on exercises, to effectively teach computing-related skills.
2. Conduct training sessions over a wide range of topics, including Cybersecurity, Cloud Computing, Network Security, Web Development, Linux Administration, and IT Infrastructure.
3. Develop and administer assessments to gauge the effectiveness of training programs. Analyze results to identify areas for improvement and adjust training content as necessary.
4. Provide practical, hands-on training in a computing lab environment, ensuring trainees gain real-world experience with relevant software, systems, and tools.
5. Ensure that all training activities emphasize cybersecurity best practices, IT compliance, and regulatory guidelines, ensuring trainees are well-versed in IT security measures.
6. Integrate modern training technologies, such as virtual labs, simulations, and cloud-based environments, to enhance learning engagement and effectiveness.
7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, certifications, best practices, and emerging technologies to ensure training content remains relevant and competitive.
8. Maintain accurate records of training sessions, including attendance, performance assessments, and trainee feedback for continuous improvement.
9. Collaborate with IT industry professionals, corporate partners, and employers to identify training needs and provide regular updates on student skill development.
10. Conduct training sessions on the preparation of project/internship reports and PowerPoint presentations for academic and industry purposes.
11. Ensure proper maintenance of IT labs, servers, networking devices, and software licenses within the faculty.
12. Work as an Exam Coordinator for the faculty and manage all exam-related activities, including schedule preparation, mark verification, and practical examinations.
13. Maintain records of fixed assets, IT infrastructure, and computing resources available within the faculty.
14. Prepare the annual budget for the faculty, including compiling requisitions for IT resources, finalizing requests, submitting to the purchase department, and responding to queries.
15. Maintain and track student internship and placement data, coordinate with industry partners, arrange interviews, and monitor student performance during internships.
16. Prepare and maintain standard documents such as SOPs, work instructions, and guidelines for computing labs and training modules.
17. Develop a faculty event calendar every six months to organize training programs, workshops, and industry interactions. Maintain event records for newsletters and annual reports.
18. Manage student discipline within the faculty and ensure adherence to university policies.
19. Coordinate with IT vendors and service providers for system maintenance, software troubleshooting, and network infrastructure management.
20. Develop training plans and duty rosters for trainers in each session.
21. Other responsibilities assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria:

M.Tech/B.Tech/B.Voc with at least 5 years of experience in relevant field.

6. Strong analytical skills to assess training effectiveness, analyze assessment results, and implement continuous improvements for better learning outcomes.
