Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Manager - Legal to oversee legal and compliance matters in the General Insurance sector. The ideal candidate will handle regulatory compliance, contract management, litigation, and corporate legal affairs to ensure smooth business operations while mitigating legal risks.

Key Responsibilities:

Legal & Regulatory Compliance:

- Ensure compliance with IRDAI regulations, company policies, and applicable laws.

- Keep track of regulatory updates and advise management on their implications.

- Liaise with regulatory bodies, including IRDAI, RBI, SEBI, and other authorities.

- Assist in drafting and reviewing policies and internal legal frameworks.

Contract & Agreement Management:

- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, MOUs, and legal documents related to insurance policies, vendor agreements, and partnerships.

- Ensure proper documentation and risk mitigation strategies in agreements.

Litigation & Dispute Resolution:

- Handle and oversee consumer disputes, claims, and legal proceedings related to insurance matters.

- Coordinate with external law firms and legal counsel for dispute resolution.

- Represent the company in legal proceedings when required.

Risk & Advisory:

- Provide legal advice on underwriting, claims, reinsurance, and corporate governance matters.

- Identify legal risks and recommend appropriate actions.

Corporate & Intellectual Property (IP) Compliance:

- Manage legal aspects of intellectual property rights (IPR), trademarks, and corporate governance.

- Ensure compliance with corporate laws, including Companies Act, FEMA, and related regulations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- LLB/LLM with 5+ years of experience in General Insurance or BFSI sector.

- Strong knowledge of IRDAI regulations, contract law, insurance laws, and consumer protection laws.

- Experience in handling litigation, regulatory compliance, and contract management.

- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.

- Ability to work with senior stakeholders and external legal teams.

Preferred Experience:

- Worked in a legal team of an insurance company, law firm, or BFSI industry.

- Exposure to reinsurance, corporate laws, and data privacy regulations.
