Job Description

Job Title: Senior Consultant - Scrum Master

Career Level - D2

Work collaboratively in our dynamic, globally distributed team to design and develop data products in the cloud, accelerating scientific breakthroughs like never before.

Accountabilities

Running sprints in JIRA/Confluence with all standard Agile Ceremonies along with Sprint planning, Backlog refinement and Stand-ups
Agile coaching for your Scrum Teams and supporting the Product Owner, especially with respect to refinement and maintaining the product backlog
Updating JIRA with progress, structuring JIRA dashboards and completing Sprint reports.
Resolving sprint blockers and managing capacity allocation during delivery for 1 or 2 Sprint teams
Coordinating Product-owner led Demos, Performance Metric reviews and Retrospectives
Identifying and Implementing measurable continuous improvements within the Scrum teams
Facilitate the teams progress toward Sprint goals, commitments, and successful delivery - Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-up, Backlog Refinement, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective.
Foster a positive team environment, growing the teams candour and confidence to take on challenges. Ensure everyone is respected, contributes effectively, and is heard
Resolving sprint blockers and managing resource allocation during sprints delivery from multiple teams
Acts as a change agent that increases the productivity of the team
Removing impediments to the development progress, actively coordinating with external teams to resolve dependencies, and timely customer concern when beyond the team s control
Ensure ongoing and active collaboration between the Product Owner and the Development team for Story definition and acceptance, ensuring the development quality products first time.

Essential Skills/Experience

Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least 5 years for a software/data development team.
Experience with widely successful Agile approaches and techniques.
Experience engaging project collaborators not familiar with Scrum
Strong communication, interpersonal and mentoring skills
Experience as a Leader, Motivator and Facilitator.
Problem-solving and conflict-resolution ability
Some traditional project management experience (eg. Coordinate release management, create project documentation, manage communications to stakeholders, negotiate schedule with partners, provide status reports to customers not familiar with Agile methods).
