Job Title: Safety Officer

Division/Company/Entity: Shree Mahavir Metalcraft Pvt. Ltd.

Location: Jamnagar

Department: EHS

Reports to: EHS Manager

Does this job have supervisory responsibilities? No

Region of reports: Jamnagar

Position Summary

This candidate will be responsible to supervise daily Safety activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Ensure a safe and compliant workplace.
• Conduct daily safety toolbox talks.
• Conduct risk assessment of critical activities.
• Conduct inspections at the workplace and circulate the findings to responsible departments along with recommendations for improvements.
• Verify the emergency management provisions and ensure their workability.
• Ensure all workplace incidents / near misses are reported and investigated.
• Conduct awareness trainings as per the training matrix.
• Maintain the inventory of EHS equipment.

Skills & Abilities Required:

• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good people management skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Physically capable and willingness to work in rotating shifts.
• Ability to Read/Write/Speak in the local language. (Gujarati)

Education Qualification & Experience required:

• Full time Diploma or Degree in Engineering or Bachelor of Science along with PDIS (Post Diploma in Industrial Safety) / ADIS (Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety)
• NEBOSH IGC (Not OBE)
• Minimum 7 years in Engineering / Chemical industries.
