Security Specialist (For JV Company in Chennai)

Function/Dept Purpose Statement:

• Implement Security policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of Corning premises, employees, and information.
• Develop and maintain Security systems, including access controls, surveillance, alarm systems and fire alarms
• Conduct periodic audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend solutions for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Monitor and investigate incidents of thefts, vandalism, and other security related issues.
• Work with law enforcement agencies and emergency services in responding to security incidents.
• Maintain records of Security incidents, investigations, and reports.
• Stay up to date with the latest security technologies and trends and recommend as appropriate.
• Ensure effective firefighting training and drills are conducted for fire emergencies.
• Deployment of outsourced security guard force for effective functioning.
• Monitoring compliance and standard operating procedures related to business continuity plan, loss prevention, fraud prevention, safety and security of employees, material, and information.

Job Description- Security Specialist:

• Recruitment and deployment of Guard force.
• Ensure legal compliance with respect to local regulations and organization policies.
• Training and welfare of Guard force.
• Ensure functional readiness for ISO / OSHAS Audit and other periodical audits.
• Timely processing financial documents like bills, purchase orders.
• Ensure physical security of employees and property.
• Ensure maintenance and state of readiness for firefighting systems.
• Ensure emergency preparedness by conducting regular mock drills and trainings.
• Liaison with local law enforcement agencies and fire department.
• Ensure timely intelligence inputs.
• Close liaison with various functions and departments.
• Carry out investigation and timely report submissions for incidents like thefts, accidents, etc.
• Training of employees as and when required on subjects related to physical and personal security, emergency management, SOPs and Security process.
• Ensure zero downtime in all critical security equipments and installations.
• Responsible for installation and maintenance of Security Technology including but not limited to Surveillance system, Access Control system, Visitor Management systems, etc.
• Ensure Zero downtime in all critical security equipment’s and installation.
• Ensure implementation of security policy, guidelines, and SOP.
• Responsible for maintaining fire system inspection documentations for various internal as well as external agencies audits.
• Ensure financial stewardship (budget attainment) by contributing to cost reductions through continuous improvement, project cost savings, and exercising good judgment on spending decisions.
• Continuous improvement for functional excellence.
