What You ll Do:

The Assistant Manager / Supervisor - Ovation Controllership (GPS) will be based in India and report to the Manager - Ovation (GPS) Controllership. This role will have supervisory responsibilities over a team of accountants and will play a key role in accounting, reconciliations, financial reporting, internal controls, and process improvements supporting the North America Controllership and broader finance organization. The position will require strong analytical skills, leadership capabilities, and a process improvement mindset to optimize financial operations while ensuring compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal policies.

  • Supervise and support a team of Accountants handling day-to-day controllership activities. Oversee workload distribution, training, and mentoring to ensure team development and efficiency. Provide guidance on complex accounting transactions and serve as an escalation point for issue resolution.

  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of financial tasks while maintaining high-quality standards. Review and approve journal entries in Agresso (Unit4 ERP), ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Oversee commission calculations and reconciliations for Independent Advisors (IAs) using Sion, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Ensure accurate and complete financial records, maintaining proper documentation for audits. Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes under tight deadlines. Prepare and review financial reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses.

  • Identify and implement efficiencies in accounting, reconciliations, and commission processing. Assist in integrating Sion with existing commission calculation workflows. Work with cross-functional teams (AP, AR, Supplier Revenue) to streamline finance processes. Support finance transformation initiatives, including automation and system enhancements.

  • Ensure adherence to SOX requirements and internal control frameworks. Support external and internal audit requests, providing required documentation and explanations. Maintain internal control documentation and perform periodic control assessments. Assist in remediation plans for control gaps and compliance risks.

  • Act as a liaison between North America Controllership and the offshore team. Partner with Independent Advisors (IAs) and Affiliates to ensure timely and accurate commission processing. Collaborate with AP, AR, and Supplier Revenue teams to resolve discrepancies and enhance financial accuracy. Provide ad hoc reporting, analysis, and support for strategic finance projects.

What We re Looking For:

  • Bachelor s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field (Master s degree preferred) with 5-7 years of experience in Accounting/Finance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead role.

  • Strong knowledge of financial systems (NetSuite, Agresso, BlackLine, or similar ERP systems preferred).

  • Experience with commission calculations and reconciliations is a plus.

  • Familiarity with SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit requirements.

  • Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to work across multiple teams and time zones.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
